Tamas Pal Kiss swaps Zele Racing for Virtuosi UK

1 Mins read

Top Hungarian driver Tamas Pal Kiss has left the Zele Racing squad ahead of this weekends Auto GP World Series races at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. He will be on the grid this weekend when he drives for the Virtuosi UK team.

Pal Kiss had started the season relatively well, with podiums in Morocco and Hungary and a first race win in France. However, he has fallen behind in the championship, and a disappointing weekend at Imola was the final straw for the young racer, and he decided to end his time at the team.

“I had to make a really hard decision, but at this stage of my career good results are more important than ever,” said Pal Kiss. “I feel that I have to switch to be successful again. This year started very well and I truly believed that we could be competitive all season long, but since the Hungaroring event we had serious problems and in Imola it all went wrong.

“I respect every member of Zele Racing and I appreciate their hard work, I think about them as a friend and I wish them all the best for the future! I think Virtuosi can provide me what is missing now. I know they are professional and after my test with them I have high expectations before the weekend. Originally I would like to race with Virtuosi since Jerez, but we couldn’t finalize our deal before the start of the season. Now the chance is here and I think I can prove again that I can convert my pace to victories.”

Zele Racing will run with one car for Christof von Grunigen in Austria, while Pal Kiss lines up alongside regular driver Andrea Roda.
