Nathan Freke and Ian Stinton are hopeful of competing at the front of the field when they make their return to the Britcar Endurance Championship at Snetterton this weekend. The Ginetta G55 GT3 pair have missed the previous meetings at Spa-Francorchamps and Donington Park to make upgrades to their machine and are confident that the effort will bring rewards this weekend.
Freke and Stinton started the season well with podium finishes in both 90 minute races on the Silverstone International Circuit, taking third in the opener behind Michael Millard’s Rapier SR2 LMPX and the Mosler MT900 GT3 of Javier Morcillo and Manuel Cintrano before going one better in the second race, taking P2 behind the Spanish duo.
This weekend will see two more 90 minute races around Snetterton and speaking ahead of his return to the Britcar series, Nathan Freke believes the improvements made to the GT3-spec G55 will enable him and teammate Ian Stinton to pick up where they left off in April and challenge right at the front at a circuit he expects to favour them.
“The car has been at Ginetta recently for some upgrades which we tested at Silverstone. The car feels really good now and I really think Snetterton will suit us to challenge for a top result!”
