Dan Holland will replace Paul Knapp in the JamSport Renault Clio next weekend for Rounds Fifteen and Sixteen of the 2014 Renault UK Clio Cup.
Holland will be making his first foray into Clio racing, and does so with a strong track record in the Ford Fiesta ST championship under his belt.
Holland made his car-racing debut in the Fiestas with JamSport last season, ending his maiden campaign sixth overall with two race victories and four other podium finishes.
This time out, the qualified electrician currently lies third in the standings with four races remaining thanks to a dominant recent spell with four straight wins, pole positions and fastest laps.
In Knapp’s hands, the JamSport Clio’s best results so far has been a pair of twelfth place finishes on debut at Snetterton.
Holland however has much higher targets for his maiden outing as he aims to impress onlookers ahead of a prospective full-time move in the series next year.
“My aim is to progress into the Clio Cup for 2015 after this year’s Fiesta ST season has finished, a good result at Rockingham might help me get noticed and help to secure the budget we need for next year – that’s how it’s been my whole racing career,” said Holland.
“So far, I’ve done 12 laps in the Clio around Donington Park from when the car was brand new when Paul Knapp first purchased it. I was just one second off the 2014 pole position time at Donington for Clios so a top three is my aim for next weekend. Huge thanks to Paul for giving me the opportunity to race his car next weekend.”
