The Trident Racing team have announced they have altered their entire driver line-up for the upcoming GP3 Series races at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.
Konstantin Tereschenko, John Bryant-Meisner and Luca Ghiotto have been announced to replace Roman de Beer, Victor Carbone and Mitchell Gilbert at the team.
Russian driver Tereschenko is currently racing in the EuroFormula Open series with Campos Racing, and took a season’s best result of third in the round at the Hungaroring.
Swedish driver Bryant-Meisner has just ended his stint in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship with Fortec Motorsports, where his best finish was eighth at Pau in France.
Italian driver Ghiotto’s primary 2014 drive is with the International Draco Racing team in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series, and his best result was fourth place in the second race of the season opening event at Monza.
The omission from the team of Gilbert is particularly strange, as it was announced recently that the Australian driver had signed to the Trident team for the remainder of the season, while dropping de Beer is also surprising as the South African has been responsible for the team’s only points of 2014 so far, which was his fourth place in Austria.
Carbone had not driven for the team since race two at Hockenheim, while another Russian Denis Nagulin raced for the team in the opening event in Spain.
