Pal Kiss leads damp Portugal practice

1 Mins read

Tamas Pal Kiss was fastest in free practice for the final round of the Auto GP World Series at Estoril as the entry levels dwindled once more.

Only ten cars are competing this weekend, with Champion Kimiya Sato and race winner Kevin Giovesi amongst the drivers sitting out the event at Estoril.

In damp conditions, Virtuosi UK driver Pal Kiss was the only driver to set a lap time beneath 1:43s, with his 1:42.601s almost three quarters of a second faster than anyone else.

Markus Pommer was second for Super Nova International ahead of his team-mate and 2013 series champion Vittorio Ghirelli, who is replacing the injured Michela Cerruti this weekend.

Former Formula 1 driver Antonio Pizzonia was fourth on his return to the series for Zele Racing, ahead of his team-mate Luis Sa Silva, who is making his first appearance in the series this weekend.

Shinya Michimi was sixth in the sole Euronova Racing entry ahead of Francesco Dracone of Super Nova International, with Andrea Roda of Virtuosi UK eighth.

Michele La Rosa was ninth for MLR71 by Euronova, while Salvatore de Plano was well off the pace for FMS Racing in tenth.
