Championship leader Alex Lynn has said he is in a “chilled mood” ahead of the final two GP3 races of they year in Abu Dhabi.
Carlin driver Lynn currently has a 47 point advantage over the only driver who still in with a chance of stealing the title, Dean Stoneman. But as Lynn will know Stoneman would need a perfect weekend to stand a chance of winning.
Even if Stoneman does have a perfect weekend the title will still be in Lynn’s hands as he will only need a couple of points to claim the 2014 crown. Lynn however is still taking nothing for granted.
“We haven’t let up on the preparation,” said Lynn. “We are just going there to do the best job we can. It will not help to be thinking about the championship all the time, we have done the hard work and we have left Dean with a lot to do – it is difficult for him to say the least.”
Make no mistake about it Lynn is not heading to Abu Dhabi to walk his way to the title. The 21-year-old is going out there to end the season on a high, with a win.
“We certainly aren’t going there thinking about being careful,” said an assertive Lynn. “We are going there to win, that is the way you want to finish the season.”
“We should really be able to enjoy it while of course making sure we do the best possible job.”
