Team BKR Enter Clio Cup With Title-Winning Clio

1 Mins read

Bubble and Kick Racing will enter the Renault UK Clio Cup next year under the Team BKR banner, with a single-car entry planned using the fourth-generation Clio Mike Bushell took to the 2014 title.

Bubble and Kick are motorsport preparation company based in Essex with experience competing a range of championships including Britcar, Ford Fiesta Championship and the MSV Trackday Trophy.

Nico Ferrari will assume the team principal role for the team, who are planning just a single-car entry for 2015 before looking to expand their squad in future seasons.

“The team has strong belief our many years and successes in club motorsport put us in an excellent position to now launch ourselves with a fresh new image into the Clio Cup and TOCA package,” said Ferrari.

“Don’t get me wrong, we know it’s going to be a huge challenge, but we can say with complete confidence when we find the right driver we’ll be able to give the current teams a good, fair fight!

“We want to ensure all our time, effort and focus is on one driver at first and when we feel we have the necessary qualifications to offer a second car, we will.”

As well as purchasing Bushell’s fourth-generation Clio, Team BKR have got the reigning champion on board as a driver coach and technical advisor.

“It was a huge boost to acquire the 2014 championship winning car and strike a deal with the Bushell family who have been nothing but supportive throughout,” Ferrari added.

“I am also thrilled we have Mike himself on board with Team BKR as a driver coach and technical advisor. Mike is a fantastic driver and, arguably, even better engineer and we’re hugely excited to work alongside such a talented guy.”
