GP3 Series 2015 Calendar and Teams Confirmed

1 Mins read

The teams and calendar for the 2015 GP3 season have been confirmed. The series will once again consist of nine rounds, all of which will support the Formula One World Championship.

Seven rounds will take place in Europe while the final two rounds of the year will take place overseas at Sochi and Abu Dhabi for the season finale.

Pre-season testing for the 2015 season will begin in Estoril, Portugal on the 18th and 19th of March. The second and third pre-season test will take place in Valencia on the 9th and 10th of April and in Barcelona on the 22nd and the 23rd of April.

The season opener will also be held in Barcelona between the 8th and the 10th of May.

Spanish outfit Campos Racing will make their first appearance in GP3 at the first pre-season test after it was announced they will be replacing Hilmer Motorsport on the grid for 2015.

GP3 Series CEO Bruno Michel believes Campos Racing, who also compete in GP2, will be a welcome addition to the grid.

I am pleased to welcome Campos Racing to the GP3 Series,” said Michel. “They have shown their pedigree in GP2 and I’m sure they will be a great addition to the GP3 grid. I’m convinced they will adapt quickly to GP3 and will work hard to be fully prepared for a busy season.

Michel is also excited about the continued opportunity GP3 drivers will get to demonstrate their skills and impress F1 bosses.

As in 2014, all nine rounds of the GP3 Series will run alongside the Formula One World Championship. This is fantastic exposure for all of our young drivers to race on the same circuits with Pirelli tyres in front of the F1 fraternity.
