Ghiotto returns to Trident for 2015 season

1 Mins read

Luca Ghiotto will return to Trident Racing for the 2015 GP3 Series season, having raced for them in two events in 2014 alongside his Formula Renault 3.5 Series exploits with International Draco Racing.

The nineteen-year-old Italian surprised many by taking pole position on his debut at Spa-Francorchamps, and also drove for the team at Monza, but will be racing full-time for the team that utilised ten different drivers in their three cars during 2014.

“Reaching this agreement with Trident makes me very happy,” said Ghiotto, who had a best finish of fourth in his 2014 Formula Renault 3.5 season. “My objective for 2015 is to leave a mark in the GP3 category and I am convinced that starting right away with the preparation of the next season, we will be able to frequently hear the Italian national anthem on the podium.”

Team Principal Maurizio Salvadori believes Ghiotto will be an excellent addition to his team for 2015, and hopes that the relationship they built last year will work to their advantage to get positive results.

“I am very happy to have Luca Ghiotto in Trident for our next season with whom we have already demonstrated to be able to obtain great results,” said Salvadori.  “Luca’s determination and speed ability are fundamental characteristics in order to perform well in GP3.

“If in addition to this, we add the fact that the driver and the entire Team have established a strong and productive relationship based on trust and the desire to grow together, I am sure that success will be reached very soon.”
