Marco Sorensen Secures Carlin Deal For 2015 GP2 Season

1 Mins read

Carlin have completed their GP2 line-up with Lotus F1 Team development driver, Marco Sorensen, joining Julian Leal for the 2015 season.

Sorensen, who has already won in GP2 in Sochi with MP Motorsport, has also won races in every championship he has competed in since 2011.

The Dane has competed in some lucrative series such as Formula Renault 3.5, German Formula 3 and Formula 3 Euro Series. The highest he has ever finished in a championship though is 2nd back in 2011 in German F3.

Sorensen believes that by working with a top team he can push for top results.

I am hugely excited to be joining Carlin for the 2015 season,” said Sorensen. “The team has a great reputation and I feel I have some unfinished business in the series.

Together I expect us to be aiming for top results. My thanks go out to Gravity Sports Management and Saxo Bank, without whose support this attack on the GP2 championship would not be be possible. We’re focussed on working hard now to prepare for the season ahead and the first tests in Abu Dhabi.

Looking ahead to the new season, team boss Trevor Carlin said: “We are extremely happy to complete our GP2 team with the signing of Marco. He is undoubtedly a very quick driver and in the right environment I have no doubt that we will see him flourish.

In addition, we know him to be a great driver to work with and together with Julian (Leal) we expect to have a very productive working environment in which to strive for further success in GP2.
