Argentine Regalia joins Zeta Corse for FR3.5 campaign

1 Mins read

Former GP3 Series title contender Facu Regalia has joined Zeta Corse for the 2015 Formula Renault 3.5 Series season.

The Argentine, who was beaten in the season finale of the 2013 GP3 Series by current Infiniti Red Bull Racing Formula 1 driver Daniil Kvyat, raced for four events of last year’s GP2 Series with Hilmer Motorsport before leaving the team following the Austrian rounds.

Regalia revealed that he has been working hard to get his career back on track following his departure from Hilmer, and is delighted to be racing in another series that has a rich history of bringing drivers into Formula 1.

“Following seven months of intense work I can confirm my participation in the World Series by Renault,” revealed Regalia. “It is another season racing in Europe and joining such a fantastic F1 feeder series with Zeta Corse, runner-up last year.

“It is an opportunity we must do everything in our power to seize, because drivers such as [Sebastian] Vettel, [Daniel] Ricciardo, [Jaime] Alguersuari and now Carlos Sainz Jr., who was my rival in the GP3 Series two years ago, were added to its historic roll of honour.

“I am very grateful to Zeta Corse, thank you for the trust you have placed in me. This is a completely new experience for me, so I need to make the most of pre-season tests. 2015 is going to be a very important year for me, surely a crucial one”.

Zeta Corse took Spaniard Roberto Merhi to three races wins in 2014, and are hopeful of revealing Regalia’s team-mate in due course.
