Douglas Motorsport Return To Juniors With Scholar Middleton

1 Mins read

Douglas Motorsport will return to the Kick Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship in 2015 after a season away, with Ginetta Scholarship winner Stuart Middleton their first driver signing.

Middleton won a fully funded season in the championship with victory in the Scholarship in October. Unlike his predecessors Alex Sedgwick and Jamie Chadwick, who both joined JHR Developments in their Scholarship years, the 15 year old will run with Irish outfit Douglas.

The team joined the Junior paddock in 2012, taking the Teams Championship in their maiden year with top five championship finishes for both drivers, Niall Murray and Andrew Watson.

They ran Keith Donegan to second in the championship in 2013, notching a total of 31 podium finishes including ten race wins in the two years, but skipped the championship last year to focus on their second Ginetta GT4 Supercup season with Watson.

“We are delighted to be running Stuart Middleton this season,” said team owner Wayne Douglas.

He showed blistering pace at the Ginetta Junior Scholarship and really impressed us during a pre-season test, so we’re set for what looks like another strong year with our junior team.”
