GT3 Am Teams End Bathurst 12 Hour Friday on Top

The locally based team behind the Hallmarc/Network Clothing Audi R8 LMS ultra ended the first day of the 2015 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour by setting the best time in the last of Friday’s four practice sessions.

The car, shared by Marc Cini, Christopher Mies and Mark Eddy, set a best time of 2:05.328 during the 60-minute session. The top three times were set by teams in the Am part of the GT3 entry. AF Corse’s #77 Ferrari was second fastest, eight tenths slower than the Audi. T F M – Ferrari Motorsport NZ were third quickest with the #15 Phoenix Racing Audi fourth, the best of the Pro-Am teams.

The JBS Australia Lamborghini that was fastest in both the first and third practice completing the top five overall.

The Grove Group team (Stephen Grove, Ben Barker and Luke Youlden) were 23rd overall at the top of the all Porsche Class B while the #93 MARC Cars Australia V8 Focus team completed a sweep of Class I, winning every practice session on the day. Their fourth session time was good enough for 28th overall of the 45 teams that set a time outpacing both the Class D and Class C leaders in the form of the Daytona Sports Cars and Donut King Lotus teams.
