Matthiesen Signs Up For First Ginetta Junior Campaign

1 Mins read

Patrik Matthiesen is set to follow up an impressive performance in the 2014 Kick Start Energy Ginetta Junior Winter Series with a full assault on the championship in 2015 with HHC Motorsport.

The Danish racer made his car-racing debut in the Snetterton-based Winter Series in November and immediately hit front-running pace in his HHC Ginetta G40J.

After putting himself in the top three in both the weekend’s qualifying sessions, Matthiesen took three top six finishes including a superb third place in the second race.

With those races under his belt, Matthiesen is looking forward to tackling his first full car-racing campaign.

“2014 was a difficult year having only had limited opportunities to test prior to the KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Winter Series, this was however replaced by a great deal physical and mental exercise,” said Matthiesen .

“My result at Snetterton shows that I am prepared to take further developments which I expect to gain on through my work and involvement with HHC Motorsport.”

Matthiesen joins the Winter Series champion Jamie Caroline in the HHC camp.

“We are delighted to welcome Patrik into our team of drivers for 2015,” added HHC’s Charlie Kemp.

The way he drove at Snetterton showed us that he has the ability to learn and drive a new circuit with experience beyond his years so hopefully after a decent amount of pre-season testing he should be very competitive.”
