Israeli race Roy Nissany has confirmed that he will race for the Tech 1 Racing outfit in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series in 2015.
The twenty-year-old moves up from racing with Mücke Motorsport in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship in 2014, and joins Aurelien Panis in the all-new line-up for the French team.
Nissany is the son of former Minardi F1 test driver Chanoch Nissany, and raced with Mücke Motorsport for two seasons of European F3, finishing with a best race finish of sixth place at the Nurburgring last year on his way to seventeenth in the championship having finished twenty-second in his debut season in 2013.
He had raced under the Mücke Motorsport banner since making his debut in the ADAC Formel Masters series in Germany in 2011, but will now switch to Tech 1 Racing for the next chapter in his career.
The Israeli driver also had the opportunity to follow his father into a F1 test drive, after being given a day behind the wheel of a 2012 Sauber F1 Team car in October 2014 at Valencia.
Both Frenchman Andrea Pizzitola and Slovakian Richard Gonda had been in contention for the second Tech 1 Racing drive but will now be seeking drives elsewhere. It is the second blow for Pizzitola who was in contention for the Lotus drive in the series before they announced Matthieu Vaxiviere and Meindert van Buuren for 2015.
