Pull Enjoys First MSA Formula Test With JTR

1 Mins read

Car-racing newcomer James Pull got his first taste of MSA Formula machinery last week with a test at Rockingham with JTR.

Pull, a successful karter in both Asia and Europe in his formative years, was one of the first drivers from the 2015 grid to get the chance to test one of the Ford EcoBoost-powered Mygale’s.

Teaming up with JTR, who won the last three Formula Ford GB titles before the transition to MSA Formula, Pull deemed the opening outing a success.

“The car was really good to drive,” Pull enthused. “It was the first time I had got behind the wheel of the new MSA Formula car and I was working on getting comfortable with it.

“I was very pleased to work with Nick Tandy and the JTR team and the first day’s test went according to plan.”

While Pull has targeted overall podium finishes and top rookie honours in 2015, the 15 year old admits the key will be to learn as much as possible in his maiden car-racing campaign.

“I have my goals for 2015, but really the idea of getting into cars this early is to get experience for the future,” he added.

Carlin and Fortec also shook down their cars last week, with Lando Norris and Oliver Rowland amongst those behind the wheel.
