Subaru Rally Team USA confirms driver for 2015 Red Bull GRC

1 Mins read

Subaru Rally Team USA have announced an unchanged driver lineup for the 2015 Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship with Sverre Isachsen and Bucky Lasek signing multi year contracts with the team to drive Subaru Impreza WRX STI’s again. Both drivers will also use the Subaru’s to take part in the 2015 Summer X Games.

Both Isachsen, a former three time European Rallycross Champion and Lasek will be joined at selected events by off road expert Travis Pastrana, who will pilot a third Subaru Rally Team USA entry during selected rounds of the 2015 Red Bull GRC season, although Pastrana’s Rally and Rallycross schedule for 2015 is not yet finalised.

The team performed well during the 2014 season with both drivers scoring a total of five podium finishes as well as an overall event win for Isachsen in the Seattle round.

Rob Weir, Subaru Motorsports Marketing Manager, explained why both drivers were signed to stay on in 2015. “It was an easy decision for us to keep them on the team,” explained Weir, “Bucky and Sverre put Subaru on the podium five times last season and continue to play a key role in the development of our rallycross program. Both drivers share tremendous pride for the Subaru brand and the success of Subaru Rally Team USA.”

Lasek shared his enthusiasm for the team ahead of the new season. “The team as a whole is like a family and we have worked so hard together the past few years to develop this program and we are winning now, fighting at the top,” said Lasek. “I’m so happy to continue to be a part of this family and the Subaru motorsports heritage.”

The Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship has already confirmed a 12 event schedule, which is its largest calendar ever, for the 2015 season. The series starts at St. Petersburg, Florida on May 31st.
