Koiranen GP complete GP3 line-up with Parry, Ericsson and Fong

1 Mins read

Koiranen GP have announced Matthew Parry, Jimmy Eriksson and Adderly Fong as their drivers for the 2015 GP3 Series campaign.

21 year-old British driver Parry is the youngest of the three drivers and makes the step up from Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, where he picked up one podium on his way to 11th in the standings.

Parry also won the 2013 Formula Renault 2.0 NEC championship, where he picked up five wins and nine podiums, and the 2012 InterSteps Championship.

On completing his step up to GP3 the youngster form Cardiff said: “I’m delighted to finally be a part of the Koiranen Team. It’s been a difficult decision which Series to compete in for 2015.

He added: “Initially I felt the need to ‘make good’ a disappointing 2014 season in Renault 2.0 Eurocup but a late opportunity arose to challenge for the GP3 Series and all the advice was to move onto the next level.

I’m at my fittest ever and completely prepared to take on the challenge. I’ve worked with Afa and his team before and there was an immediate rapport which I’m certain we can replicate and make a positive bid for this Series.

23 year-old Swedish driver Eriksson retained his seat for a second season with the Finnish team. Eriksson finished 4th in 2014, picking up two wins, five podiums and two pole positions.

Eriksson believes the team can expect more of the same from his this year: “I’m really looking forward to continuing with Koiranen GP in GP3.

We showed already last year what we are capable of and I have no doubt that we will be fighting for podiums and victories this year.

2013 Audi R8 LMS China Cup champion Fong, who tested for Sauber F1 Team in 2014, returns to GP3 for a third year after competing with Status Grand Prix in 2013, and Jenzer Motorsport in 2014.

On his return to the series the 25 year-old said: “I’m very happy that I will be racing in the GP3 Series alongside F1 again. I’m very delighted I will be with Koiranen GP as I know they are competitive.

It is also my first time competing in the full Series, so I’m looking to achieve positive results and securing as many points as I can!
