Rustad Reveals Polo Livery for EuroRX Campaign

1 Mins read

European Rallycross driver Tommy Rustad has revealed the livery that will adorn the VW Polo Supercar he will pilot on the 2015 FIA European Rallycross Championship.

Rustad, a veteran racer from the Swedish Scandinavian and British Touring Car Championships, contested the 2014 FIA European Rallycross Championship in the HTB Racing Volvo C30 Supercar and finished sixth in the drivers’ standings at the end of the season. His best event of the season was at Mettet in Belgium, where he qualified tenth at the Intermediate classification and fourth in semi-final two, missing a place in the final by one position.

Rustad announced in December that his HTB Racing outfit will run a VW Polo Supercar in association with the VW-Marklund Motorsport team. VW-Marklund ran Anton Marklund and Topi Heikkinen in 2014 and they have already confirmed ex WRC man PG Andersson to drive one of their Polo Supercars for 2015.

Rustad is excited to get on with testing his new EuroRX machine.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity Marklund Motorsport and HTB Racing gives me to have better conditions for success in the European Championship,” said Rustad.

“Marklund Motorsport is one of the most professional teams in rallycross, and they have developed the VW Polo RX Supercar into a winning car. This is my best rallycross commitment so far and I’m looking forward to testing the car. ”

Rustad will contest all six rounds in the 2015 EuroRX as well as the FIA World Rallycross event to be held at Holjes in Sweden.
