Ticktum Leads The Way At Snetterton MSA Formula Test

Fortec Motorsport’s Daniel Ticktum set the pace as eleven drivers from five teams convened at Snetterton today (2nd March) for the latest official timed MSA Formula test day.

Following last week’s exploits at Brands Hatch, Carlin, JTR, TRS Arden and SWB Motorsport joined Fortec to tackle the 300 layout at the Norfolk venue as they edge closer to the opening rounds of the series in a months time.

In dry, cloudy conditions in the morning session, Ticktum posted a best time of 1m 52.917s to lead the way by 0.474s from Carlin pairing Lando Norris and Colton Herta, the former having been the quickest in wet conditions at Brands.

Ricky Collard was fourth quickest, his best lap of 1m 54.468s putting him just over a second and a half off Ticktum. Petru Florescu was fifth ahead of the fastest JTR runner Daniel Baybutt, with Enaam Ahmed and Josh Smith was next.

James Pull and Sandy Mitchell rounded out the top ten for JTR and Arden respectively, whilst Rafael Martins completed the runners for SWB Motorsport, the field split by four and a half seconds heading into the lunch break.

Continued dry conditions in the afternoon produced the same top three at the top of the timesheets, with an improved time of 1m 51.916s putting Ticktum on top again from Norris and Herta, 0.783s separating the three.

Pull and JTR team-mate Baybutt were next up, just 0.014s splitting them at the end of the three hour session. Collard once again led the Arden charge, this time in sixth ahead of Carlin’s Florescu and Fortec’s Smith.

Arden stablemates Mitchell and Arden completed the top ten, with Martins once again in eleventh, this time an improved 3.668s off the top pace.
