Trident have completed their 2015 GP3 Series line-up with 19 year-old Colombian Oscar Tunjo.
The youngster, who has previously competed in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, Formula Renault 2.0 NEC and Formula Renault 2.0 Alps, joins GP3 from Formula Renault 3.5 after budget problems forced him to pull out of a multi-year contract with the Pons team.
Tunjo, who will join Luca Ghiotta and Artur Janosz, has said he is hoping to fight for wins as soon as possible.
“After the agreement I signed with Trident, I’m very motivated,” said Tunjo.
“It’s the next challenge in my professional racing career and I can’t wait to start working hard together with the team.
“The goal is to be a stable presence at the front of the grid and fight for podium finishes and wins.”
Team boss Giacomo Ricci said: “I’m delighted to have reached an agreement with Oscar, completing the driver line-up of our GP3 operation.
“As well as his team-mates, Tunjo has an interesting driving style that I’m sure will bring us lots of satisfaction in the future.“
