Top Romanian prospect Robert Visoiu has completed Rapax’s GP2 Series line-up for the 2015 season, joining Russian Sergey Sirotkin.
The nineteen-year-old moves up to GP2 having raced in the GP3 Series for the past three seasons, winning twice for MW Arden back in 2013. He continued with the team in 2014, albeit under the Arden International name, and finished on the podium in Hungary after challenging for the win against Richie Stanaway until late in the race.
“I am very excited for this opportunity,” said Visoiu. “I have been working hard with Pro Performance to be at my best and I am sure together with Rapax I will make good progress in 2015!
“It’s going to be an interesting year in which I will have to learn many new things, but I am sure that I will be able to develop a good pace and to be competitive. I am very excited am I am looking forward to the start of the season!”
Rapax’s Gianfranco Sovernigo was excited to confirm the Romanian to the team for the 2015, and is hopeful he can develop his talent during the forthcoming season.
