Ginetta Scholar Sedgwick In French Formula 4 Switch

1 Mins read

Alex Sedgwick, the 2014 Ginetta Junior Scholarship winner, will switch to single-seaters this season in the FFSA French F4 Championship.

Sedgwick, who competed in a single season of Ginetta Juniors last year with JHR Developments, heads to Europe with backing from motorsport insurance specialists Lockton MIS Motorsport.

The 16 year old took a best finish of fourth overall last season, with five top six finishes in total securing him a top ten championship finish.

For 2015, Sedgwick trades in his Ginetta for a 1.6 litre Renault-engined single-seater in a one-make series that boasts Jean-Eric Vergne and Stoffel Vandoorne amongst its former champions.

“Sharing this new challenge with Lockton MIS Motorsport is fantastic; they have been a big part of my racing, from my early days in karting, as they are to thousands of other drivers around the world,” said Sedgwick.

“Having their support with their experience of all types of motorsport is a big help. Racing in Europe will be a fantastic opportunity and, one day, I hope to be racing in the Le Mans 24 Hrs. But, for now, I have a chance to drive part of the famous circuit as part of the F4 championship.”

Sedgwick kicks off his F4 campaign with an official test around the Le Mans Bugatti Circuit, before commencing a seven meeting championship that features Paul Ricard, Pau, Magny-Cours and the Hungaroring.

Lockton MIS Motorsport was created in June 2014 when MIS became a division of the Lockton Group of Companies.
