Craig Lomax and his XtremeRX team travelled to Pembrey for round 3 of the British Rallycross Championship looking to extend their lead in the Super 1600 championship.
Lomax had it all to do starting each of the 3 heats from the second row, but testament to not only his driving pedigree but also the quality of the developments the car has undergone over the past couple of months he managed to drive the car home to successive heat wins, culminating in the fastest time in heat 3.
Starting the A-Final on the coveted pole position saw nearest competitor Mark Gamble make it to the tricky first corner first. Lomax opted to take his joker lap on lap 2 and then concentrated on reeling in Gamble. When Gamble finally took his joker it was a fore gone conclusion for Lomax to seize the opportunity to pass and to gradually pull clear and take a decisive win.
Craig Lomax, #24:
“After all the hard work that we as a team have been doing on developing the car with our sponsors when it all starts to go right it makes the win even sweeter. Believe me there’s still more to come!”
