Last Corner Contact Awards R1 Victory to Fielding

1 Mins read

Daniel Ticktum took victory at race 1 of the Croft round of the 2015 MSA Formula Championship, but this result is only provisional after contact on the final corner.

Lando Norris maintained his lead going into the first corner, and led the race until the final lap. Norris clashed with second placed Ticktum at the last moment, with the leader suffering and failing to finish.

Instead, Ticktum powered to the finish line, in front of Ricky Collard and Sennan Fielding.

Race stewards are reviewing Ticktum’s controversial overtake, and so the result could all still change…

UPDATE: Following post-race investigations from the stewards, Ticktum’s pass was deemed unsafe and that the collision was avoidable.

Collard was also penalised, for passing Fielding under yellow flags, and so Fielding inherits the win, the second of the season. Collard slips down to second, ahead of Tarun Reddy.
