Armand to miss Red Bull Ring weekend

1 Mins read

Indonesian racer Philo Paz Patric Armand will miss this weekend’s Formula Renault 3.5 Series event at the Red Bull Ring in Austria after encountering Visa problems.

Armand, who’s best finish of the season is tenth place at Monaco, was scheduled to partner Roberto Merhi this weekend for Pons Racing, but will be absent from proceedings.

The team are actively attempting to try and find a replacement driver for the event, which will see a change in procedures to regular weekends with both races taking place on Sunday, but admit it will be difficult to achieve given the time frame they have before the weekend begins.

Pons Racing ran Swiss-Greek driver Alex Fontana at Monaco when Merhi was on his Formula 1 duties with the Manor F1 Team, while the team are arriving in Austria on the back of their best results of the season at the Hungaroring when Merhi claimed a podium finish in race one and further points in race two.
