Patric Niederhauser has joined GP2 Series team Daiko Team Lazarus ahead of the eighth round of season in Monza, replacing Frenchman Nathanaël Berthon.
It was announced that the GP3 Series graduate will team-up with Sergio Canamasas who continues to stand in for the injured Zoel Amberg.
“I am extremely happy about my debut in the in GP2 Series in Monza with Daiko Team Lazarus next weekend. I’m ready for this opportunity. It will be an enormous challenge with many new challenging things,” said Niederhauser.
Niederhauser competed in the GP3 series for three years with Jenzer Motorsport and Arden International winning a total of four races as well as taking four additional podiums throughout his time in the series. The Swiss driver also competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2013, but has been racing this year in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo championship.

The Italian Grand Prix takes place September 25-27, at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza.
