Jordan King admits he is looking forward to racing around the Sochi Autodrom after scoring points in three of the last four GP2 Series races with the Racing Engineering team.
“After time on the simulator getting ready for Sochi I am very much looking forward to the weekend, the track looks like a great one and there should be some good racing there,” said Jordan.
I think it is a very technical circuit so you have to focus on driving the car well with your feet as there are lots of medium speed corners. For the long straight you will need to make sure you get a good exit for the extra mph down the straight.”
GP2 took a five week break between Italy before they head to Sochi this weekend for the ninth round of the 2015 season.
“There are a lot of things to take on board so it is important to take the time to learn a wider range of things before focusing on the small details, but really my preparation doesn’t change much from each weekend,” continued the Manor F1 Team development driver, who carries over a penalty from the previous round.
“For the first race it will be tough as I carry over a penalty from Monza but I feel confident that I can get a good result and fight for the podium in race one and definitely in race two.”
The GP2 drivers will take to the circuit this weekend, 09-11 October, in Russia, with action starting on Friday.
