Butel returns to JHR Developments with support of Yuasa

1 Mins read

Jack Butel will continue to race in the MSA Formula series for JHR Developments this year after he secured the sponsorship of Battery manufacturer Yuasa, who also have links to the parent British Touring Car Championship.

The 19 year old had a tough time 2015, picking up a best result of sixth in the controversial Silverstone round that only saw ten finishers. He was also the lowest placed driver to have competed in every round of the championship, ending the year with 38 points.

He joined the JHR Developments squad half way through the year, a move which saw his results improve significantly. As a result, Butel will hope to continue the progress this year as he talks of his Honda and BTCC links thanks to Yuasa.

“To be more a part of the touring car scene is a really big deal for me, especially with all the added exposure it will bring, and I’ll definitely be looking to pick up a few pointers from the likes of Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden.”

“I’m so glad that I’m racing with JHR. It’s an amazing team and I’m happy to do another year with them. Because we only joined them halfway through last year we didn’t really get to grips setting up the car to my specifications, but now we can hit the ground running in 2016.”

Butel’s pre-season training starts next month as the team visit Thruxton. The season itself will get under way in April at Brands Hatch with Butel being the eighth driver to be confirmed to race so far.
