Tregurtha And Roberts Confirm Ginetta Junior Returns

1 Mins read

Will Tregurtha and Cameron Roberts are returning for their second seasons in the Ginetta Junior Championship this year, with both changing teams to HHC Motorsport and JHR Developments respectively.

Tregurtha enjoyed an impressive rookie campaign last year with Richardson Chassis Engineering, taking five class podiums to finish in the Rookie class top five.

On top of that, Tregurtha also picked up three outright top six finishes, narrowly missing out on an overall podium with a best of fourth at Snetterton.

Tregurtha teamed up with HHC for the first time during the Winter Series at Snetterton in November, with a positive weekend seeing him take his first podium finish.

“The Winter Series was a great experience with HHC. The team looked after me incredibly well and I will be giving it everything to win races for them and push for the title in 2016,” said Tregurtha.

“I also want to do well for my sponsors Enlighten Operational Excellence who have shown great faith in me and have made sure I have the backing to compete at the front of the grid.

Roberts meanwhile entered the series as the runner-up in the 2014 Ginetta Junior Scholarship, joining the grid with Total Control Racing.

A strong campaign saw Roberts pick up three Rookie Cup podiums, with a seasons best sixth place overall coming in the penultimate meeting of the year at Silverstone.

Roberts has linked up with Race Driver Development and UK driver manager Graeme Glew for 2016, and is JHR’s third confirmed driver alongside Seb Priaulx and Seb Perez.

“I’m feeling incredibly confident ahead of 2016,” commented Roberts.

I know I’ve got the pace and ability, and now I have a great bunch of people around me with JHR Developments and the Race Driver Development team. There’s no doubt I’ve got my eyes on the prize, and we are going to work hard to get it.”
