Holowczyc and Kaczmarski Confirm 2016 EuroRX Entry

1 Mins read

Polish drivers Krzysztof Holowczyc and Martin Kaczmarski have confirmed that they will take part in the 2016 FIA European Rallycross Championship for Supercars. Both drivers will pilot an OlsbergsMSE built Ford Fiesta each during the season.

Kaczmarski already has some offroad experience as he took part in the 2014 Dakar Rally where as a débutante, he went on to finish ninth in the general classification. Kaczmarski also took part in the 2014 FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup where he made regular podium appearances whilst in 2015, he participated in the FIA World Rallycross Championship support series, the RX Lites Cup.

“We treated the first season in RX Lites as an opportunity to familiarise ourselves with rallycross and to learn the new form of racing,” Kaczmarski told the World Rallycross website.

“Direct competition on the track and driving side by side was something completely new to us. There is no denying it – at first we received a serious beating, often from teenage drivers, but we were definitely hooked. Both myself and Krzysztof finished the season in the top ten. It was then after a year of competing and training that we decided to take part in Euro RX.”

The two Polish drivers are joining what is already looking to be a very competitive field for the 2016 EuroRX season, which kicks off at Mettet in Belgium on 13-15 May. For 2016, the EuroRX competitors will have their own heat races, separate from the WorldRX competitors at clashing events and this will be an added incentive to draw in more drivers and teams this year.
