Luca Ghiotto will remain with Trident as the Italian driver makes the move from GP3 to GP2.
“I can’t wait to line-up for this new adventure. Last year, it was tough for me to fight so hard and not winning the title,” said the 2015 GP3 Series runner-up at the ACI Sport 2015 Italian Championships Awards.
In 2015, Ghiotto came runner-up to ART Grand Prix driver Esteban Ocon with eight podiums, including five wins, and 245 points.
“However, it has been an extremely useful experience with the help of the excellent teamwork among the whole Trident stable. I want to thank once again Maurizio Salvadori and Giacomo Ricci for their support, and the Italian Federation for believing so much in me. I really look forward to be back on-track.” “I am delighted to announce that, after a spectacular season that handed him the runner-up honours in the 2015 GP3 Series, young racer Luca Ghiotto will be stepping up to the GP2 Series with Trident.
The move also provides continuity to the valuable collaboration between Trident and ACI Sport, in a relationship aimed at supporting and promoting the careers of young and talented racers.
The completion of the agreement with Ghiotto was favoured and made possible by his participation to the Team Italia program,” said Team Principal Maurizio Salvadori.
