Josh Price will contest his full season in the Renault UK Clio Cup this year, linking up with reigning champions Team Pyro following a positive debut at the end of 2015.
The 17 year old competed in the final three meetings of last season with the Leicestershire squad, immediately impressing with his pace in the six races.
Making his car-racing debut at Rockingham, the Karting graduate took a seventh place finish in his maiden race, one of four top seven finishes in his short spell.
After improving to fifth at Silverstone, Price firmly showcased himself as one to watch with a fourth place finish during the Brands Hatch GP season finale.
Teaming up with 2014 champion Mike Bushell in Pyro’s 2016 line-up, Price feels that with additional testing under his belt, he can be a presence in the title picture this year.
“I’ve got everything there to do well – the equipment is right, I’m with the right team and I have the right people around me,” said Price.
“Rockingham was my first ever car race but even by Silverstone I was up there fighting near the front with drivers who’d already had three years in cars.
“I’ve still got to learn the other circuits on the calendar, but I’d be silly not to be thinking of going for the title in 2016.”
Pyro Team Principal Mark Hunt added: “Josh is a very exciting driver for the future with natural pace and aggression so we’re very glad to have kept him on board for 2016.
“He and Mike are doubtless going to push one another on occasion and I believe we already have two extremely strong team-mates going into this season.”
