Peter Felix has agreed an eleventh hour deal to return to the Renault UK Clio Cup grid for the opening rounds of the 2016 season this weekend at Brands Hatch.
The 45 year old previously competed in the Clio Cup in 2008, before returning from a five year sabbatical with a one-off appearance at Rockingham in 2013.
His next outings came last season, with runs at Croft and Rockingham producing three overall top ten finishes in four races including a best of eighth.
On top of that, Felix emerged victorious in the Masters Cup on three occasions and he is sure to be a front-runner in that class again this weekend.
“At the moment the deal is just for Brands Hatch but maybe a good couple of results could attract a sponsor,” said Felix.
“I’m massively looking forward to it… the UK Clio Cup has had a major resurgence in the last 12 months and the grid is phenomenal in terms of talent. Just breaking into the top ten will be hard work.”
Felix joins Tom Butler and Sam Watkins in 20Ten’s entry for the season opener, with a 23 car grid expected to contest the opening two rounds on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit.
