Hadfield Brothers Team Up For Ginetta GT5 Challenge Attack

1 Mins read

Ryan and Jonathan Hadfield will compete in the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge this season with their family team R&J Motorsport.

Ryan prepares for a first full campaign in the British GT support series after showing his potential during a race-winning spell in the championship last season, while Jonathan steps up from the Ginetta Juniors.

After two seasons in the Juniors, in which he took three podium finishes, Ryan competed in four weekends of the Challenge last season, a spell which culminated in a maiden victory at the Donington Park season finale.

Alongside that, the 18 year old also made a one-off appearance in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup at Silverstone, taking a best finish of twelfth in his first outing in a G55.

“I’m really pleased to be back in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge,” he commented.

“It’s such a competitive grid and I really learnt a lot over the past three years as part of the Ginetta family that I am sure it’s going to put me in the best position to pick up a few more trophies – and beat Jonny of course!”

Jonathan’s second season in the Ginetta Juniors last year started in superb fashion with pole position and a maiden win at Donington Park, with the 17 year old eventually finishing eighth in the final standings.

“I’m looking forward to taking the next step on my motorsport career and graduating into the Ginetta GT5 Challenge,” added Jonathan.

“Racing against Ryan is going to be great fun, we both definitely want to beat each other, but we’re going to make sure we work together to get the best results for the team!”
