Tregurtha Pleased With Start Following Donington Podium

1 Mins read

Will Tregurtha believes the early points hauls he’s secured in the Ginetta Junior Championship could be crucial in boosting his chances of walking away with the title at the end of the season.

A positive start to the campaign has seen the HHC Motorsport racer finish in the top five in each of the five races so far, including two visits to the outright podium.

The first came with his maiden victory during the Brands Hatch season opener, which he followed up with a third place finish in the final race at Donington Park last weekend.

“The aim at the end of the season is to win the title, so picking up these points in the early meetings is vital to give ourselves a platform to challenge for the championship at the end,” said Tregurtha.

“The action is only to get more hectic and crazy as the season progresses, which is quite hard to imagine, so these points could be crucial.”

Tregurtha is aiming to continue his consistent front-running results next time out at Thruxton, a circuit at which he showed strong pace last season with a top six finish.

“I really like Thruxton, it’s a great track. I’m really comfortable racing there and have been quick in testing, so it’s all looking good for another strong weekend,” he added.
