TRS Arden driver Luis Leeds took his second F4 British Championship victory of the year as he inherited the lead from the two leaders who crashed into each other on the opening lap. The win continues his strong Croft weekend after a podium yesterday.
An excellent start from Devlin DeFrancesco saw him rocket into the lead as he worked ahead of Caroline. Disaster soon befell the Fortec Motorsport driver as he made a lunge on DeFrancesco. It didn’t end well as Caroline hit the Canadian spinning them both off.
Caroline broke his suspension as DeFrancesco later retired with damage. Behind them, another terrible day for Alex Quinn saw him launch onto the back of team-mate Frank Bird, seeing them both retire.
This left Leeds at the front with his countryman just behind. In third Max Fewtrell made a weak restart allowing Rafa Martins to challenge through the first half of the lap. In turn Leeds extended his advantage at the front.
Meanwhile an off for Patrik Matthiesen saw him sacrifice a vital points position. He recovered, many seconds down. Meanwhile Sennan Fielding finally started to close the gap to the opposition, eventually taking Jack Martin for sixth.
As the flag waved, it was the Australian of Luis Leeds who took his second win of the season ahead of Zane Goddard who took the fastest lap, with new championship leader Fewtrell in third.
Behind them, Martins took fourth ahead of Pull, Fielding and J Martin. After a terrible Saturday Romanian Petru Florescu eventually recovered to take eighth overall.
