Perez Joins Ginetta GT5 Challenge Grid At Croft

1 Mins read

National rallying legend Steve Perez will join the field for the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge this weekend at Croft as the championship returns to the support bill of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

The four-time British National Rally Champion will swap his range of rallying machinery for a Ginetta G40 for the first time in the Challenge, with Perez heading into the meeting fresh from a round of the European Historic Rally Championship in his Lancia Stratos.

With Father’s Day falling on Sunday, Perez Snr will be joining his son Seb on the support package, with the latter currently being a front-runner in the Simpson Race Products Ginetta Junior Championship, having taken a seasons best fourth place finish last time out at Oulton Park.

Steve Perez commented: “It’s a very different discipline driving a race car on a circuit, but the Ginetta GT5 is a very easy car to drive, I just have to remember I am not in a Group Four Escort and cut out the Scandinavian Flicks!”
