Priaulx Targeting Wins After Double Croft Podium

1 Mins read

Seb Priaulx enjoyed the most successful day of his racing career to date at Croft this past weekend as he secured a pair of outright Ginetta Junior Championship podium finishes on Saturday.

Bouncing back from a difficult visit to Oulton Park earlier this month, Priaulx would star in North Yorkshire in his JHR Developments-prepared Ginetta G40J.

From fifth on the grid, Priaulx picked his way past a multi-car incident in front of him at the first corner of race one to take second overall and the Rookie Cup victory.

The Guernsey-based racer would follow that up with third position and second in the Rookies in race two, to make it three overall podium finishes for the season so far.

Sunday’s final race would prove to be a tougher affair as he got caught up in first corner contact, with him eventually bringing his damaged G40 home in eleventh.

Despite the Sunday troubles, Priaulx has climbed up to seventh in the championship standings heading into the summer break before the next rounds at Snetterton on July 30/31.

“The first two races on Saturday were great and I was in the party at the front and in the top three on both occasions but Sunday’s was a bit tough,” said Priaulx.

“I started on the outside and didn’t have any space at turn one. It got a bit messy and the car got damaged. It’s a lot harder mid pack but I managed to stay calm and work my way forward to grab some solid points which was good.

“I’m looking forward to the next round at Snetterton and I’ll be even happier if I can get a win there!”
