Daytona victors win Base semi finals

1 Mins read

Steve Arpin and Tanner Foust backed up their fine Daytona form by winning the semi finals for the first of two back-to-back events at MCAS New River in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Arpin’s win came in Semi Final A ahead of Sebastian Eriksson and Jeff Ward while Foust triumphed in Semi Final B ahead of Joni Wiman and Brian Deegan.

In the Last Chance Qualifier, Scott Speed fought back after a disappointing start to the day – which saw him spin out of Semi Final B – to win, ahead of Sverre Isachsen, Austin Dyne, and Bucky Lasek who made it two returning Subarus out of two to make it into the final. Patrik Sandell was the casualty of the LCQ, missing out on a final spot.

However, the LCQ also brought about it’s fair share of controversy, with Isachsen receiving a five second penalty for crossing the blend line at the end of the joker lap, relegating him to last, and as a result promoting Sandell to the final in his place.
