Davis Set For Clio Cup Return At Silverstone

1 Mins read

Ben Davis will return to the Renault UK Clio Cup grid later this season at Silverstone – twelve months on from his championship debut at the same venue.

Davis impressed in the penultimate rounds of the 2015 season with fellow debutants Rangoni Corse, taking sixth and seventh place finishes across the weekend.

Hopes to continue in the Clio Cup full-time this season didn’t come to fruition at the start of the year, but hard work through the campaign has resulted in this opportunity for the 23 year old.

Davis will link up with reigning champions Team Pyro for the meeting in September, with new headline backing coming from R-Tech Welding Equipment.

“I’m under no illusions that repeating my results of last year will be tough – the UK Clio Cup grid has got a whole lot more competitive in 2016 but it’s a challenge I relish,” said Davis.

“This is the place for drivers to prove themselves and I certainly know I’m with a fantastic team in Pyro.

“Thanks also to my sponsors for believing in me. I have a lot of guests coming to Silverstone so I am sure it’ll be a great weekend!”
