Patrik Sandell tops opening practice in Atlantic City

Patrik Sandell topped the opening practice session for Red Bull Global Rallycross Atlantic City, beating reigning champion Scott Speed by over six tenths of a second.

Steve Arpin was third, a further eight tenths back, with series débutante Chris Atkinson in a surprising fourth in Subaru’s third entry.

Brian Deegan completed to top five, marginally ahead of Tanner Foust. The race winning Honda duo of Sebastian Eriksson and Joni Wiman were next up in seventh and eighth respectively, with Sverre Isachsen and Austin Dyne completing the top 10.

The third Honda of Kevin Eriksson, and Bucky Lasek completed the order, while Nelson Piquet Jr. failed to register a time.
