Wood “Over The Moon” With Seasons Best Second

1 Mins read

Tom Wood enjoyed his best weekend of his car-racing career to date as he notched a seasons best second place finish in the Ginetta Junior Championship at Rockingham last weekend.

After qualifying fourteenth, Wood, who is backed by Donington Park race circuit, worked his way through the order in the first two races in Corby, finishing twelfth and sixth overall.

Wood was then drawn out of the hat to take the reverse grid pole position for race three, lining up on the front row alongside his Elite Motorsport stablemate Harry King.

While King for the better launch off the line to take the lead, Wood was able to trail his team-mate throughout the race to complete a dream one-two result for the Elite squad.

“What a great way to end the weekend with a second overall podium of the year,” said Wood.

“After struggling in qualifying ending fourteenth, to then having a second place and a one-two for the team I’m just over the moon!”
