Priaulx Storms To Silverstone Pole With Last Gasp Lap

1 Mins read

Seb Priaulx has made it two Ginetta Junior Championship pole positions in the last three qualifying sessions after stealing top spot at the death at Silverstone.

The weather played a decisive role in the penultimate session of the season, with a drying track meaning it all came down to the final minutes at the ‘Home of British Motorsport’.

It was Seb Perez who initially stormed to the top by half a second, but next time around his JHR Developments stablemate Priaulx improved by a further four tenths with a 1m 15.693s effort.

That advantage was to be halved by Dave Wooder, who secured his first front row start since Oulton Park in June, while Perez was left to settle for third.

Of the title contenders it was advantage Will Tregurtha, with the championship leader qualifying fourth, whilst his chief rival Stuart Middleton could only finish up ninth.

Tregurtha was one of three HHC Motorsport cars in the top seven, with Charlie Fagg and Lewis Brown in fifth and seventh respectively, sandwiching Rookie class leader Daniel Harper.

One of the star performances of the session came from Harry Dyson, who was a superb eighth overall to kick off his debut weekend in the championship in style.

A lower than hoped eleventh meanwhile was Harry King, the Elite Motorsport star having topped the times in FP1 yesterday, with his team-mate Tom Wood in sixteenth.

Full qualifying results can be found here.
