Ralph Boschung in the running for Porsche Junior position

Porsche Motorsport Junior Programme, Ralph Boschung (CH)

GP3 Series race winner Ralph Boschung is one of four drivers – selected from tens of candidates – who has the potential to join the Porsche Motorsport Junior programme. Whoever gets selected will be awarded a full 2017 Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland season and privileged support from the German manufacturer.

The nineteen-year-old performed well during physical tests before taking to the wheel of a 460bhp Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The final decision will be made by Porsche in the upcoming weeks.

Due to financial issues, Boschung is not competing in this weekend’s GP3 round in Malaysia with Koiranen GP. The Swiss driver was forced to sit out the Belgian round at Spa Francorchamps due to similar reasons but returned for the round at Monza.

Boschung is hoping to be able to return to his GP3 campaign at the final round in Abu Dhabi on 25-27 November.

“I am delighted to be amongst the finalists competing for a place in the Porsche Junior driver programme,” commented Boschung. “It is a superb opportunity for me to continue my career in motorsport, as Porsche offers a first class professional environment.

“Whatever happens in between now and Abu Dhabi, the 2016 season will remain a success, with consistently competitive pace and of course the win in Austria. I must say a big thank you to all the members of the Koiranen GP team, from which I have learnt a lot these past few months. I will be cheering them on this weekend.”
