Silverstone Supercup Bow For Chadwick And Xentek

1 Mins read

Ollie Chadwick and the team that guided him to the 2016 Ginetta GT5 Challenge title, Xentek Motorsport, will make their Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup debuts at Silverstone next weekend.

After finishing vice-champion in his first two seasons in the series, Chadwick won the Challenge crown at the third attempt this season courtesy of twelve race wins in sixteen races.

The 20 year old won’t be phased by the more powerful Ginetta G55, having made a couple of outings in the British GT Championship this season in GPRM’s Toyota GT86 GT4.

The Supercup bow caps off Chadwick’s sixth season of Ginetta competition, having preceded his three Challenge seasons with a same length spell in the Ginetta Juniors.

Having had a fantastic season in the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge, this will be a new challenge for me, but one I’m extremely excited about,” said Chadwick, who tested a G55 last month.

“Of course I want to win, as I do any time I get in to a racing car, but we will just take it as it comes for our first weekend.”

Xentek owner Chris Richards added: “We’ve enjoyed three very successful years in the Challenge, and the SuperCup appears to be the logical step up for us as a team.

“The TOCA package is fantastic and there really isn’t anything like it in British Motorsport. This one off round will give us the grounding for a multi-car entry into next year’s championship.”
