Wooder Leads The Way In Junior Finale Qualifying

1 Mins read

Dave Wooder set the pace in the final Ginetta Junior Championship qualifying session of the campaign for his first pole position of the 2016 season.

Wooder was one of five drivers in contention for the top spot throughout the session, which was split by a red flag stoppage after an off for Anthony Ayres.

The Total Control Racing ace lost a timesheet topping laptime at one stage for exceeding track liits, but hit back perfectly to set the pace with a 1m 48.371s effort.

Behind, both Lewis Brown and Harry King set the identical laptime, 1m 48.617s, with Brown taking the front row berth due to him posting his lap first.

Seb Priaulx secured fourth overall, crucially meaning both he and King have qualified ahead of the Rookie Cup leader Daniel Harper, but the Northern Irishman is close behind in sixth.

A close-fought session saw the top ten drivers split by a second, with one of those being Jordan Collard who secured a seasons best qualifying result of ninth.

Seb Perez (fifth), Stuart Middleton (seventh), Charlie Fagg (eighth) and Geri Nicosia (tenth) were the other top ten finishers, with Olli Caldwell and Connor Grady just missing out.

Full qualifying results can be found here.
