At 54 years of age, Johnny O’Connell is still going strong as a GM factory driver.

The four-time Le Mans class winner has been involved with the Corvette and Cadillac GT programmes for over a decade now, and recently returned to the French endurance classic for his 15th race appearance driving the C7.R.

Partnered with Oliver Bryant and Mark Patterson, O’Connell and the Team AAI crew finished ninth in the highly competitive GTE-Am category.

In this video, O’Connell explains how his association with the Corvette brand came about, from unlikely beginnings all the way up to his return to Le Mans in 2016.
