Winter Series Champion Priaulx: “I’ve Never Felt So Good”

1 Mins read

Seb Priaulx has described winning the 2016 Ginetta Junior Winter Series title as a “fantastic way to end the season” following a dominant performance at Brands Hatch.

The JHR Developments ace secured the crown courtesy of a clean sweep of top two finishes across the four race mini-series in mixed conditions in Kent.

On a wet opening day, Priaulx followed home Dave Wooder in both races for a pair of second place finishes, which left him ten points adrift of his rival overnight.

Priaulx was the driver to beat on day two however, with a perfect day seeing him convert pole position in qualifying into a pair of a lights-to-flag victories to take the title.

The Winter Series success caps off a brilliant first year of Ginetta racing for Priaulx, who secured six outright podium finishes including a maiden win at Silverstone during the main championship.

Priaulx enthused: “This is awesome. I’ve never felt so good. I struggled a little bit in the wet on Saturday, but I was able to fight to a couple of podium finishes which was brilliant.

“Sunday was just perfect though, to take pole position and two victories to win the title, I’m just so happy. To end the season this way is fantastic, I go into the break now on a real high.

“I have to say a massive thank you to all the team at JHR Developments, they gave me a fantastic car all weekend, and to my family and sponsors for all their support.”
