Priaulx Relishes “Awesome” First Formula 4 Test

1 Mins read

2016 Ginetta Junior Winter Series champion Seb Priaulx tested a British Formula 4 car for the first time this week at Donington Park.

The 15 year old, son of three-time WTCC champion Andy Priaulx, was handed his single-seater testing debut by the JHR Developments team.

It came following a superb 2016 season, with his Winter Series success following a rookie campaign that produced six outright top finishes including a maiden win.

Priaulx got behind the wheel of the Amigos-liveried machine that Sennan Fielding took to second overall in British F4 this season with the JHR squad.

The test comes as the Guernseyman looks to run a Formula 4 campaign alongside a title challenge in the Ginetta Juniors next season.

“What an experience. The circuit was a bit greasy to begin with but the car was awesome. There was so much downforce and the way the F4 car needs to be driven seemed to suit my style,” he said.

“When the turbo kicked it you could really feel it and the slick tyres gave so much grip. Big thanks to JHR for arranging the test for me, it was a great way to end the year.

“My priority next year is to try to win the Ginetta Junior crown, but if we can get the funding to also do F4 that would be brilliant.”
